Alright, so yes it's been a while. You all have my appologies. So I found a short (very short) lived job for winter break. I worked at the Christmas Chalet for 3 days helping to take invetory. It wasn't too bad, I rather enjoyed it. It got me out of the house and doing something productive before 3pm.
Story time:
Day one - I get up and realize that I have no clue what the dress code will be like. I'm not sure if the store will be open or closed, if we wear dress clothes or jeans, tennis shoes or heals. So I opt for the safe khakis and dress shirt with flats. Pretty versatile, I thought. When I get there, everyone is dressed to go play in the barn... jeans, tennis shoes, sweat shirts, everything. This is when I find out, counting inventory at a Christmas Chalet... big Christmas trees... ornaments on big Christmas trees... Ding ding ding... climbing ladders to the tippity top of ginormous trees in dress shoes, can you say "fun"?!
Day two - I dress appropraitely today, but none-the-less nearly take out a co-worker by knocking over a tree with my leg as I stretched to read a price tag on a tree topper... woops... nothing else eventful this day..
Day three - On the way to work, I'm running about a minute or two behind preferable time... the car in front of me is going at the extreme speed of 44 on 219 (clearly posted speed limit: 55). So yes, I'm tailgating (just a little, not quite kissing his bumper). But then, at King's Run Road, he decides that he would, in fact, like to
be on King's Run Road. He breaks hard, and makes the turn... I follow suit and break hard... the car behind me... not so quick to hit the breaks. I hear his tires screech as his car appears nearly nose to nose with mine over on the oversided, but now much appreciated, shoulder. So yeah, that's my excitement for the week...
Now,it's back to the duldrum that I like to call, living at home. I was never much of a "home-body" but boy and I getting a heavy dose of it this winter :-\...
P.S. Today was epiphany... FYI, just in case you're not sure, it's the day that we recognize the wise men come to see Jesus and give their gifts. You know, the reason we like Christmas so much ;) Just a thought... but why don't we give the gifts on January 7th??
